This photo shows Stubby on the Yale University football field (which was used as a training site for the troops), with Robert Conroy (2nd from the left, back row) and unidentified family members and fellow soldiers.  Note date:  Saturday, Aug. 1917

Stubby's Uniform

Hung heavy with honors, it included a wound stripe on the right shoulder area and a three-bar service patch on the left.  Each service bar signified 6 months of combat duty, or 18 total.
